Astigmatism

Astigmatism is a very common eye condition that is caused when our eyes are not completely round. Because our bodies are not perfect, astigmatism occurs in nearly everybody to some degree. The good news is that it is easily corrected with eyeglasses or contact lenses; and on some occasions, surgery.

You can see the effects that astigmatism has on a person's vision in the pictures above on the left side. The pictures on the right side show how clear a person's vision becomes once the astigmatism is corrected.

If you are experiencing any difficulty with your vision; such as objects at a distance appearing blurry and/or wavy or unusual eye fatigue or strain, contact Cambridge Eye Associates for an exam to make sure you are seeing clearly again.
